2. How to work in Android SDK (Eclipse)

So you have downloaded and extracted the Android SDK from Google's Developer Site. If you have not opned Eclipse, then go the folder where you have extracted the SDK and open the folder named "adt-bundle-windows-x86" then, go to the "eclipse" folder and click the "Eclipse.exe" file. You may create a shortcut in the desktop by right clicking the file and send to desktop for easy use.

When you open Eclipse, it will ask you to give a workplace location to store your project data. Choose an easy location like My Documents so that you can easily find the folder later. You can tick to save all projects in the same location. Click OK and now you can see the following screen.  On the extreme left there is a package explorer where you can explore your project files if you have created any projects. (You can also download and view the sources of sample projects here, using SDK Manager. That I will explain later. Now there is a green run button on the middle of the toolbar. When you have created  a project you can click here to Run (so that you can see the result) your project. The Java perspective on the extreme right top corner is the default environment where you to do the coding. The Console on the bottom will show you all the activities you are doing like running the application. Log cat will show you all of your project logs.

Now you have learn the basics of Eclipse platform. Now you have to create a sample project. That I will explain in the NEXT CHAPTER
